2020 Illustration Prize

Welcome to the fourth annual New England Illustration Prize!
We invite illustrators resident in any part of Australia, and at any stage of their careers, to create a colour illustration, suitable for a children’s picture book, on the theme of ‘When it rains, it pours’. You can interpret this in any way that you wish — it can be humorous, fantastical, realistic, or any genre that you wish and the illustration can be centred around people, animals, supernatural creatures, robots, monsters, machines, whatever you like! It can be created in any medium but must be able to be sent digitally, by email, as a file attachment — see Entry Requirements (bottom right of this page) for the full guidelines.
Thanks to the generosity of fantastic sponsors, we have great prizes on offer.

First Prize:
Entry into the prestigious SCBWI Illustrator Showcase at their next conference, plus going into the draw for selection for a personal visit to their office/workspace AND a one year membership to SCBWI.
Sponsored by SCBWI Australia

Second Prize:
A portfolio assessment with Margrete Lamond from Dirt Lane Press, plus one follow up.
Sponsored by the New England Writers' Centre

Third Prize:
$150 cash prize
Sponsored by Little Pink Dog Books
