Armidale and Tamworth (for first two sessions)

These workshops are a collaboration between NEWC, NERAM, Tamworth City Library and Christmas Press. Create A Picture Book is a fabulous new program for people who want to create children's picture books. This is for both authors and illustrators, and will happen over three sessions over three months.
Session 1: (Complete and a great time was had by all!)

How to start your picture book. Author Sophie Masson and Fiona McDonald will present, and take you through the process of transforming your bright idea into a perfect marriage of words and pictures.


When:
Sunday May 31 (Armidale session) FULL, Saturday June 13 (Tamworth session)
Time: 10 am - 1 pm
Where: NERAM, Tamworth Library and Gallery
 
Session 2: (Coming up!)
FULLY BOOKED
Polishing your book: Editor and author Beattie Alvarez and illustrator and designer David Allan will guide you through the process of editing, laying out and designing your book.

When:
Sunday July 12 (Armidale), Saturday July 18 (Tamworth)

Time: 10 am - 1 pm
Where: NERAM, Tamworth Library and Gallery

Session 3:
FULLY BOOKED

Professional evaluation/pitch session with agent Margaret Connolly: This is the final exciting point of your creative journey, when you will can have your work assessed by a professional book industry representative.
The times have changed for this session, as we opened it up to more participants. We will let you know the details shortly!

How much:
Package of three sessions - $135 for NEWC/NERAM/Tamworth Library members, $150 for non-members.
Sessions 1 and 2: $50 each for NEWC/NERAM/Tamworth Library members, $60 for non-members
*Session 3 only: $75 for NEWC/NERAM members, $85 for non-members.

*Places are limited for session 3 and preference will be given to people who have booked the whole package, though there will be some extra places available on a competitive basis.
