Australia's most wanted (crime writer) is here!
Crime fiction includes police procedurals, legal thrillers, spy novels, capers, mysteries, investigator tales, psychological thrillers, forensic thrillers, suspense novels, and more. Even if you prefer writing in the longer form, short stories are like your business cards to the world - helping to establish your name, hone your writing craft and develop a solid writing habit.
In this two hour workshop, JP will take us into the deep, dark depths of the criminal short story. This is your opportunity to learn from an expert in psychological thrillers on how to create taut, pacy stories. Discuss where to look for and find inspiration, and how to approach research, advice and checking plausibility.
Participants will have one free submission to the 2022 Thunderbolt Prize for Crime Writing.
