​The Illustrated Story

Join photographic artist and illustrator, Lorena Carrington, for this unique and rare opportunity to learn directly from her on an exploration of surroundings, objects and cyanotype to create your own, original montaged landscapes and creatures. This is a creative, inspirational and hands-on workshop - young people who are mature & independent of parental care are very welcome.

​The New England Writers' Centre is proud to be hosting this extraordinary artist on her visit to Armidale - don't miss out on this unique opportunity.

When:    Saturday, 17 July,  10am - 2pm
Price:       $50 Members | $65 Non Members

All about Lorena...

Lorena Carrington is a photographic artist and book illustrator based in regional Victoria. Her books include the Long Lost Fairy Tales Collection with Kate Forsyth and French Fairy Tales with Sophie Masson. Lorena exhibits regularly in galleries including the Stephen McLaughlan Gallery in Melbourne, Grace Cossington Smith Gallery in Sydney and The Art Vault in Mildura.

Lorena presents at literary and arts festivals around Australia, and visits schools and libraries to give talks and hold workshops on illustration, books and story. She is the recipient of the 2020 Australian Fairy Tale Society award, for her “outstanding contribution to the field of Australian Fairy Tales.”
