2020 Vision - a year in review

Despite the enormous challenges posed by 2020 events and pandemics, the New England Writers' Centre quickly adapted.
A wide range of fabulous workshops for writers and illustrators at all levels were delivered, in addition to our annual prizes and competitions, including the Thunderbolt Prize for Crime Writing, the Illustration Prize and the Varuna-NEWC Fellowship.

The NEWC also worked closely with the Historical Novel Society of Australasia to help them deliver the inaugural ARA Historical Novel Prize, the richest literary genre prize in Australia.

We are determined to stay positive and focused for 2021 with an exciting array of workshops, with a strong emphasis on creative entrepreneurship.

Take a look at our Program page to see our workshops, events and festivals for writers & illustrator.
