The New England Writers’ Centre is delighted to announce the launch on December 3 of its fabulous By the Book video series, which features local professional writers, illustrators, editors and publishers offering tips and advice on all kinds of aspects relating to book creation and production.
These engaging and informative short videos, showcasing the breadth of creative talent and professional expertise in the New England region, are aimed at aspiring writers and illustrators across the whole country. They include discussion of creating backstory for characters, how to edit your own work, an inside look at the illustration process, do’s and dont’s in submitting work to publishers, and much more. |
Introduced by award-winning author and NEWC Chair Sophie Masson AM, the By the Book series features writers Bronwyn Parry, Ian Irvine and Helena Pastor, author-illustrator Trish Donald, author, illustrator and publisher Kathy Creamer, editor and publishing services director Linda Nix, and commissioning editor Beattie Alvarez.
Each video was filmed by the individual person concerned, using phones, computer software or cameras, with post-production including By the Book overall look created by Whiptail Productions. The full By the Book series playlist is available to watch now on the NEWC You Tube channel.
