Richard has extensive experience as a script writing and film production teacher, including as a Lecturer (RMIT), Production Fellow (QUT), Writer-in-Residence (Griffith) and Professorial Fellow (Victorian College of the Arts). He has taught Writing Short Films and Script Editing for the Australian Film, Television & Radio School and Open Channel.
Richard has a PhD (UNE), Bachelor Arts (ANU), Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (NEIT), and is currently based at the UNE, teaching in Humanities and with the Oorala Aboriginal Centre .
